Patrolling the Stars (Leaving Triad Series Book 2) Page 10
“Mmm …" Drako moaned, his glazing over with pleasure.
*****
Carolina gave him a devious smile and leaned forward, sticking her tongue out and licking up the side of his cock. He twitched at the contact. She used one hand to massage his sac, while her tongue continued to tease and bathe his shaft. She worked her way to the tip, and sucked the pre-come from him.
He tasted salty and sweet at the same time; it was an intoxicating flavor. She needed more of it, more of him. Carolina moved closer and sucked his manhood into her warm mouth. He was so long and wide, she needed to use one hand to move against the lower half of his shaft. At the same time, she gently rolled his balls with her other hand. She took him as far down her throat as she could. He was so big that it wasn’t very far. She sucked and hummed simultaneously, which caused an interesting reaction.
“Oh, fuck me!" Drako cried out, beginning to pump himself in and out of Carolina’s mouth. She might be inexperienced, but she was full of enthusiasm.
Carolina released his sack and used both hands on his shaft moving and twisting until he shouted his release, his warm semen pouring down her throat. She sucked and licked until he was oversensitive, wanting to take in every drop. Carolina shifted her stiff knees, feeling the dampness of her panties. She was still fully dressed. Pulling back, she looked up at his face; the look he wore was one of awe and worshipfulness. No man had ever looked at her like that.
“Take off your clothes, or I’ll rip them off," he demanded with a growl.
Carolina started moving backwards on the bed while she quickly unbuttoned her silky blouse. She reached behind her and unzipped her skirt, letting it slide off of her and down her thighs as she continued to scoot back. When she was finished, she had on only her bra, panties, and high heels. Carolina reached the pillows, and that was when Drako made his move.
He dove onto the bed and grasped her legs, pulling them open to him. Drako gripped the sides of her panties and pulled them down and off of her legs. Her scent hit him, and he knew that his eyes were probably dilating with arousal. He rubbed the cleft of her pussy lips with his calloused fingers, slipped between the wet folds, and stroked her.

“Drako, please," Carolina begged him as she lifted herself up to bring his fingers deeper inside of her.
She protested when he pulled his fingers away, bringing them to his lips. He sucked the juices off his own skin, closing his eyes at the taste of her. Carolina had a sweet flavor, a nectar similar to his home world. He growled as his need for her doubled. Drako grabbed her thighs and opened them wider. He would take her with his mouth next time. Right now, he had to be inside of her.
He positioned his cock at the apex of her womanhood, and thrust his length swiftly inside her, all the way to the hilt. They both moaned out loud at the pleasure of his cock filling her up completely. He felt every pulse, every flex of her inner walls bearing down on his dick. He could swear he felt her heartbeat there as well.
His hips met hers again and again as Drako thrust in and out of her, the slight curve of his length dragging against her inner walls where she needed him most. He leaned down to feel her soft breasts rubbing against his hairy chest.
Carolina wrapped her legs around his waist and matched him thrust for thrust. He knew she was on the verge of her climax, it was so close. She just needed—
“More!" she yelled out, scratching his back.
Drako let go of his control and pounded into her, sucking on her neck at the juncture where it met her shoulder. Her skin was so soft, so smooth. His hand reached down between them, teasing her clit with his fingers. That was all that she needed. Carolina screamed as she felt every fiber in her being exploded with unbridled pleasure. Drako quickly followed after her, arching his spine as he shuddered with his release.
Drako shifted them to their sides, moving with care so that he wouldn’t crush her with his larger body. They stared into each other’s eyes, contentment shining in their faces. Drako pulled her closer to him, and as she drifted into a sleep, he heard her whisper something so light that he might have missed it if not for his excellent hearing:
“I love you.”

Carolina awoke sometime the next morning feeling disoriented and lonely. She reached out for Drako, but his side of the bed was empty and cold. It took her a moment to remember that he’d left a few hours ago. They had made love off and on all night. She’d barely stirred when Drako kissed her goodbye. Oh God, he was gone. What was she going to do now?
She stayed in bed a little longer, holding his pillow up to her face and breathing in his scent, missing him immediately. She sighed. She couldn’t hide here forever. She had employees to hire, and clients’ dates to reschedule. She pushed the covers off and sat up.
Where to start? She needed to advertise openings for liaisons. She frowned. Maybe she should rethink calling it a liaison service. It had caused all kinds of problems for her already. Perhaps it should be billed as a Terran-Alien Relations Service. That way she could also employ some aliens, who could act as liaisons for the Terran passengers.
She smiled at the way her plans were coming together. The ship had an on-line page for classified ads and job listings. She could register there, and enter an ad for new liaisons. Carolina got dressed quickly and left, excited that she had a new venture to work on while Drako was gone. When he got back, she was looking forward to telling him all about it.

That afternoon, Carolina rented a meeting room for the interviewing process. Mary and Thesos were there with her to help her pick the best candidates to hire. It was all happening so quickly. Within an hour of placing the ad, she’d been getting phone calls. She hadn’t even had a chance to create an employment contract yet. She had fifteen people coming to meet her that afternoon, and another ten the next day.
“What do we ask?" Thesos looked uncomfortable. He had been reluctant about participating, but Mary wrangled him into doing it.
“We’ll divide up the types of questions we ask." Carolina handed each of them a piece of paper with sample questions. “I’ll start out by asking for background information: What were their previous jobs? What kind of work do they like to do? That kind of thing.
“Mary will be next, and she’ll be asking relationship questions: How they got along with their previous employers and co-workers, their family life and social life, if they’re dating anyone.
“You, Thesos, get to ask them situational questions.”
He frowned. “Situational?”
“Yes. You ask them what they would do in certain situations. An example would be, ‘If a client asked you out on a real date, what would you do?’ That is actually a sample question on your sheet.”
Thesos bent his head and started reading the questions. “There are no answers listed. How will I know if they answered correctly?”
Mary smiled at Carolina. “There’s not a right or wrong answer, it’s more about learning their personalities." He gave her another frown. “Let’s make this easy. If the person answers your questions in a positive way, give them a three. If they answer neutrally, give them a two. Then if they answer in a negative way, give them a one.”
Thesos finally nodded. “Right, so anyone with a one, you won’t hire.”
She wasn’t going to correct him. It was possible she would hire them, depending on what the situation was, but she didn’t think Thesos would get it. A knock on the door alerted Carolina that their first interview was there.

Ambassador Clen watched from a darkened corner of the corridor as Carolina walked with her friends to her suite. He’d been watching her for a few days, looking to find a moment when the beautiful Terran was alone, but no opportunity had presented itself. At least the Quadruped was gone. He just needed to be patient. He would have his chance with her, and then he would show her how a female should answer to her master. Just a little while longer.

“Hello
?" Carolina’s satellite phone rang.
“I miss your voice," a male’s voice said over the line.
Carolina smiled. “I miss your voice, too, and everything that comes with it.”
“What have you been doing while I’ve been gone? Any liaison dates?”
“No, not really." She wanted to tell him in person about the change in her business. “How’s the investigation going?”
“I finished with this ship, and I have to go to one more before I can come back. The next ship has some complaints filed, so the GPP wants me to investigate it. The captain may be difficult to deal with, though.”
“Do you know the captain of that ship? Is he a friend of yours, like Turk?”
“I know of her. I haven’t met her before.”
“A woman captain, huh? I’d like to meet her.”
“I wish you were here with me. I can’t sleep well without you by my side.”
She smiled. “We wouldn’t be sleeping if I was in your bed.”
He laughed. “You’re right. There would be no sleeping.”
They talked for about an hour before they hung up, and Carolina went to bed missing him something awful. She couldn’t wait until he came back home.
Chapter Fifteen
Three days later, Carolina finally picked the liaisons she was going to train. There were three Terran women, two Terran men, one Quadruped woman, and one Squid male. She had a hard time keeping her mind off of Drako, so she was grateful to have the distraction of training new employees.
As a training exercise, she had them take each other out on practice dates, so that they could learn to deal with whatever situations might arise. She also worked one-on-one with each employee, explaining how the liaison company would work and what policies have to be followed. Carolina answered their questions patiently, but if one more person asked if they were allowed to have sex for money, she was going to scream.
During the day she kept herself busy with work, but when she went home and laid in her bed alone, her mind was filled with images of Drako. She thought about all the things that they had done together before he left, and all the things she wanted to do to him when he returned. Carolina found herself waiting up for his call, pretending to do paperwork for her business. She knew not to expect him to call every night, because he was extremely busy with his job. Some nights he didn’t call at all; then there were times when he would call her early in the morning. That always made a great start to her day. God, she missed him.
She worked on creating an ad with descriptions of the new venue for the business, and descriptions of her new employees. Carolina felt like a lot of the things she did were just busy work to keep her mind off Drako.
The good thing about the phone calls was that they got to talk to each other. They were getting to know each other pretty well. She found she could talk to him about anything, and she liked that. He respected her for having her own business, although she knew he wished she would stop doing the liaison work herself. She hadn’t ever let her previous relationships interfere with her job, but for once she thought about what it would be like if the shoe was on the other foot. If Drako’s job involved him going out to meals every night with other women, how would she feel? To her surprise, she found herself extremely jealous at the thought. She didn’t want him spending time with other women, just her.
She wondered what she would have done if he’d asked her to go with him. Would she have gone? She loved her new business venture, but she really missed being with Drako. She couldn’t help but feel incomplete without him there to share her success with her. She reassured herself every day that he would be back soon.
When Carolina spoke with Drako on the phone, she never let him know that she was miserable without him. He needed to keep his head straight to do his job. It could get dangerous, and she didn’t want to be the distraction that got him hurt, or worse … killed.
*****
Drako was busy as hell with the investigation on this currently assigned ship, the Galactic Fire. The complaint had been that Terran passengers were being cheated out of their money through unauthorized gambling events. The captain of the Galactic Fire was pissed-off to have a GPO on board.
He had introduced himself to the female ex-pirate Captain Rena. She was an Aquadratic, with short, light-blonde hair, and pale blue eyes. She was a very attractive and confident female, who had no problems letting him know he was in her way.
“We don’t need GPOs on the Galactic Fire," She told him without shaking his hand.
Drako lifted his brow at her. “That’s not what the complaints indicate — ten of them in the last two weeks alone.”
She snorted. “I could’ve handled the complaints if they had been given to me.”
“Are you going to interfere with me doing my job?”
“Of course not. If these complaints are valid, I just want to be there when the culprits are busted.”
He nodded his head. “As long as you don’t interfere.”
It took a couple of days, but Drako finally uncovered a scam going on between a dealer in the casino and the casino organizer. They had to have had help running bets on the side, but neither of them would admit who they reported to. The Galactic Fire would be under scrutiny for a while.
Captain Rena was beyond pissed. He had to restrain her before she took the two males’ heads off. For their own safety, he placed them in the holding cells until the GPP sent more officers to take them in for judgement. Unfortunately, that meant he had to wait on the Galactic Fire with the prisoners in the meantime. Then he could return to Carolina, until his next assignment.
All Drako could think about was Carolina. At night he would dream of her, touching her, kissing her, licking her between her thighs until she came on his mouth. It was never enough to talk to her over the phone. He wanted more, so much more. He wanted everything with her.
He had spent hours questioning the prisoners again. When he was done, he went back to his room to call Carolina. He couldn’t get hold of her, so he called Turk.
“Hello?” Turk’s voice was sleepy and aggravated.
“Hey, Turk, how’s everything over there?”
“It’s fine here. When are you coming back?” he asked.
“I don’t know, soon I hope. Have you seen Carolina today?”
“I know you didn’t call me just to find out how your girlfriend is doing.”
“Is she okay?" Drako ignored the teasing in Turk’s voice.
“She’s fine. She misses you, but from what I can see she’s keeping herself busy.”
Drako immediately assumed that meant that Carolina was busy with her liaison business. It still bothered him that she went out with other males, even if it was innocent. It was something he was going to have to work on dealing with. “I miss her something fierce,” he admitted. “You were right.”
“Right about what?”
“I love her.”
“I know. Why don’t you call her?”
“I tried earlier, but couldn’t get hold of her. Now it’s too late. I figure I’ll call tomorrow, when I get a minute.”
“So, you worry about her sleep, but you don’t mind waking me up at this ungodly time of the night?”
“Technically, it’s morning.”
“It’s not morning till I wake up.”
“You’re awake now,” Drako joked. “I’ll let you go back to sleep. Good night.” He hung up before Turk could say anything else.
He stared at his phone, tempted to call her anyway. Drako had sorted through his feelings for her and realized that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He was in love with her, and he ached to tell her that. He wanted to wake up each morning beside her, and then relax in the evenings and hear how her day went. Then he would make love to her for hours before falling asleep with her safely in his arms. Drako sighed, and set his phone down. He didn’t want to disrupt her sleep.
He couldn’t wait till he got to head back. He laid on his bed, trying to pict
ure her there with him. God, he was so in love with that woman; as soon as he got back he was going to show her just how much he felt for her. His chest ached for her, and so did the rest of his body. It was in constant need, and only Carolina would satisfy him.
There were nights he couldn’t sleep, because he worried that she might not return his feelings. He second-guessed whether she’d actually whispered the words, ‘I love you’ before he left. He longed to ask her about it, but he wanted to do it in person.
The other reason he stayed up was his overwhelming fear that she might move on. He was gone from her now, and if he remained with the GPP, he would be gone a lot longer than this. How was he going to keep her interest, when he was traipsing all over the galaxy, ship to ship, on one investigation after another? He couldn’t expect her to wait for him. He needed to make a decision about his future with Carolina.
*****
Carolina sat with Mary as she spoke to the legal advisor about the days that Melanie would be with her father. Her father, Dick Carter, would have her every other week. Because they were traveling on different ships, Melanie would have to be escorted on a shuttle in between them. Carolina didn’t think Mary’s husband deserved any time with Melanie, after he just abandoned her on Terra to die. What parent did something like that?
Carolina was getting irritated as she sat there and listened, but she couldn’t really say much; at least, not until she was in the courtroom. She knew she would be called as a witness, and she would be only too happy to tell all about how Mary and Melanie were left on Terra with no home, no money, and no food. She’d taken them in, so she knew they had nothing to their names, not even clothes. She’d reassured Mary everything would work out. Once the court heard about the type of person Mr. Carter truly was, leaving his wife and child to die, they would revoke all of his rights. She hated the man sight unseen, and dreaded having to face him in court. Carolina prayed the court would rule in Mary’s favor and refuse him any custody.
